Thankful for my PI @QuaveEthnobot ... the lab may be closed for research due to #COVID19 but it’s far from useless.
The @WHO #HandRub recipe is here: https://t.co/y8tscAXF86
This yields a liquid solution (not a thick gel). It can be easily dispensed in reused foam soap or hand sanitizer bottles, or with a spritz/spray bottle. The recipe is for either 80% Ethanol v/v or 75% isopropyl alcohol
@QuaveEthnobot @emoryhealthcare Can you share the recipe? I've found several different ones but the alcohol seems too diluted...
That happy feeling when you're able to pitch in! #QuaveLab made up a 20 liter batch of the #WHO #handsanitizer recipe for colleagues in @emoryhealthcare! 1st delivery today going to #Emory developed #COVID19 antibody test team! Recipe: https://t.co/fV4yjjXoAy

There's a lot of confusion around the difference between #chloroquine & #quinine for #COVID19. I teamed up with @Kim_Wyrt & @allasicanales to explain.
No, #cinchona bark is not a cure for #coronavirus

No, cinchona bark is not a cure for coronavirus
Cinchona bark, the flavouring in tonic water, is not a natural source of chloroquine.

Oh hey check it out! This was such a fun interview with an ethnobotanist whose work I very deeply respect. Thanks for having me on!
