Photos from field study in Pantelleria, Italy

I have just completed an ethnobotanical field study on the volcanic island of Pantelleria n collaboration with Dr. Alessandro Saitta, mycologist and Asst. Professor at the University of Palermo, Italy and with support from the Emory Center for the Study of Human Health. Dr. Saitta and I examined the local traditions concerning the use of wild plants and fungi, comparing the current practices to those documented 38 years ago. Thanks to all of the wonderful people of Pantelleria for their assistance and participation in the study! Here are some photos from our trip. Stay tuned for the publication reporting the results of this expedition later this year!
